This is WebInke Design

Our business is to be invested in your business.

A little bit traditional, a little bit tech, and a lot of helping small business. Having built a business up from scratch, I’d like to think that I’m pretty suited to helping with whatever project you may have.

Meet James

Owner - Designer - Developer

Finding a person you trust to help with your business can be hard. There are a lot of options, and everyone claims to be the best at what they do. How am I different? Well, for starters, I’ll never claim I know everything and I’ll never try to sell you on something I can’t do. I enjoy what I do, and I love creating solutions for all kinds of businesses.

For over 15 years, I’ve been developing websites and helping businesses with graphic design needs realize their goals through WebInke Design.

I received a Bachelor of Science (Graphic Design) with a focus in Print Design, but I quickly jumped into the digital world of website design and development in 2004, finding that the two fields worked very closely together.

As a small business owner, I understand that owners have many hats to wear. My goal is to try to be as hands on as possible, making sure that your project needs are taken care of and that you’re happy with the process and end results.

When I’m not working on something art related, I can often be found in the kitchen trying a new recipe or perfecting an old one to add to my (upcoming) online food blog.

What is WebInke Design?

WebInke is a combination of two thoughts and practices. Because I deal with both digital and traditional art forms, it became a fitting description that bridges the two disciplines. Web encompasses my love for online development and design, and Inke connects to where it started in 2004, with graphics and print related design, which eventually branched into more digital work as well (that’s the ‘e’).

It’s a creative entity that focuses on making the hard stuff easy. It’s not enough to simply make great websites and logos, and then simply hand it off to the customer without much further engagement. Running a business is hard, and you don’t  need extra work.

The mission is simple; we do what you need. I create functional and beautiful custom websites that are tailored to your needs, as well as unique and attractive graphic assets for whatever your business might require.

Frequently asked questions

You have questions. We have some answers. These are mostly never set in stone, as there are always variables to consider from person to person. If you have a question that you don't see, don't hesitate to let us know.

Contact us
  • What is WebInke Design?

WebInke Design is a creative business that specializes in helping businesses exist outside of their realm of expertise. We create and manage websites, design materials, and also provide training for staff and teams.

  • What kinds of clients do you focus on?

Primarily those who need branding, print, web development, or marketing services. Photo retouching is also available. We like to work with local businesses, but we are available nation wide.

  • What kind of websites do you build?

We focus mostly on informational and lead generation websites, but if you have an eCommerce project we can discuss more details about what you need and if we’re the ones to help you. We work primarily with Woo, but we aren’t necessarily locked into it.

  • What if I don't want to give you [private] information?

Unfortunately we won’t be able to do business. Part of having a website built is building a relationship of trust. If you don’t trust us to know your hosting passwords so we can do what we do best (build websites), then there isn’t much we can help with.

  • I live in [location]. Will you travel to me?

The preference is to have a meeting online, which you can book through our online calendar once you submit an inquiry. If you are (semi)local to our area then we may be able to work out a meeting at a local coffee shop or similar.

  • How long have you been in business?

We’ve been doing graphic and web design for over 15 years, and have no plans to stop any time soon.

  • How much do you cost?

Every project is different. If you’re serious about what you want, we can talk about it. At that point we’ll give you an estimate or quote based on your project needs.

  • Why are you so expensive? [This guy] charges [this].

Our prices are actually pretty competitive with other businesses in the same field. The main reason we seem more expensive is because we don’t subcontract overseas, which a lot of “designers” do. We have a simple stance: If we can’t do it, then we won’t say we can. In the end, you’re paying for a certain value that we provide. Cheap work will never yield optimal results.

  • How long do I have to wait for my website/logo/print?

All projects are different, but in short, it goes like this. Websites generally take 4 – 12 weeks, depending on the complexity of the website and other variables.* A custom logo turnaround will be between 4 – 7 days, and complete branding projects will usually take between 3 – 5 weeks.

*part of this depends on how quickly you get necessary content delivered.

  • Do you provide written copy or photos?

As a general rule, WebInke Design does not provide a copywriting service, so it is up to you to provide the website/brochure/etc information. If you have general outlines that need to be fluffed, then we can discuss the additional scope of work. You will need to provide photos or we can select suitable ones from our stock resources.

  • How do we get started?

If you are ready to get started, fill out the inquiry form and we’ll get back to you. If your project sounds like a fit, we’ll send you our calendar to schedule an online meeting to discuss your project. After we go over what you need, we will draw up a proposal. Once you sign the proposal we’ll finalize with a contract and the non-refundable* retainer.

*A refund will only be issued if work has not been started. Retainer is 50% of the amount due. Also, up to 75% of the total amount will be due if the project is canceled by you, for any reason, after we get started.

  • Do you do any SEO?

We do basic onsite SEO and adhere to best practices when we build your website, but if you are looking for a more robust SEO solution we can provide some referrals for you.

  • How do I pay you?

Currently there are two ways to make a payment. You can send us a check to the address on the invoice you received, or you can follow the link in your emailed invoice to pay online.

  • Will my website work on mobile devices? Should it?

As of January 2016, all of our website projects include a responsive layout, which will work on the most popular smartphone platforms (iOS, Windows, and Android). Based on the amount of people who use smartphones to access websites nowadays, it is certainly a good idea to have a mobile/tablet ready site.

  • Will you host my website?

Yes. All new projects hosted with us are part of a monthly management plan that includes a number of packaged services.

  • Can I have access to the files after the website is done?

In the event that you would like access to your website files, you will need to move it off of our hosting platform and assume all risk and liability with managing it.

Where we can be found

When people talk about sunny Southern California, they're usually talking about the multiple beaches, coastline driving, and sunshine. These are just a couple of the great things we get to enjoy on our off time. This doesn't stop us from providing services to clients all over the country though.
