Frequently Asked Questions

Everyone has questions. Here are some answers.
Knowledge is power, as they say.

You Have Questions. We Have { Some } Answers.

We've taken time to try and cover as many different questions as possible. Remember, these are never set in stone, as there are always variables to consider from person to person. If you have a questions that you don't see an answer for, please don't hesitate to contact us, and we'll answer it as quickly as possible.

WebInke Design is a media firm that specializes in helping businesses exist outside of their realm of expertise. We create and manage websites, marketing materials, and also provide training for staff and teams.

Primarily those who need branding, print, web development, or marketing services. Photo retouching is also available. We like to work with local businesses, but we are available nation wide.

We focus mostly on informational and lead generation websites, but if you have eCommerce needs we can discuss more details about what you need and if we're the ones to help you.

Unfortunately we won't be able to do business. Part of having a website built is building a relationship of trust. If you don't trust us to know your hosting passwords so ew can do what we do best (build websites), then there isn't much we can help with.

If you are (semi)local to our area then we can have a face-to-face meeting without any problems. Otherwise, if you have a phone, e-mail address, or webcam we can do everything we need that way as well.

We've been doing graphic and web design for over 15 years.

Every project is different. If you're serious about what you want, we can talk about it. At that point we'll give you an estimate or quote based on your project needs.

Our prices are actually pretty competitive with other businesses in the same field. The main reason we seem more expensive is because we don't subcontract overseas, which a lot of "designers" do. We have a simple stance: If we can't do it, then we won't say we can. In the end, you're paying for a certain value that we provide. Cheap work will never yield optimal results.

All projects are different, but in short, it goes like this. Websites generally take 4 - 12 weeks, depending on the complexity of the website and other variables.* A custom logo turnaround will be between 4 - 7 days, and complete branding projects will usually take between 3 - 5 weeks.

*part of this depends on how quickly you get necessary content delivered.

As a general rule, WebInke Design does not provide a copywriting service, so it is up to you to provide the website/brochure/etc information. If you have general outlines that need to be fluffed, then we can discuss the additional scope of work. You will need to provide photos or we can select suitable ones from our stock resources.

If you are ready to get started, you can call us at 310.294.9962, or fill out the contact form and we'll get back to you. After we go over what you need, we will draw up a contract. Once you sign the contract and pay the non-refundable* retainer, we can get started with your custom project.

*A refund will only be issued if work has not been started. Retainer is 50% of the amount due. Also, up to 75% of the total amount will be due if the project is canceled by you, for any reason, after we get started.

We provide SEO services that focus on getting you good local results for your market. We can include some keyword optimization and location based landing pages, as well as ongoing page optimization and target page build outs. Of course, we can't and won't promise anything about getting you to be #1 with Google, since the internet has changed so much that it's practically impossible to promise that sort of thing anymore. We focus more on marketing you through different, more focused channels.

Currently there are two ways to make a payment. You can send us a check to the address on the invoice you received, or you can login here to make secure payments on your account.

As of January 2016, all of our website projects include a responsive layout, which will work on the most popular smartphone platforms (iOS, Windows, and Android). Based on the amount of people who use smartphones to access websites nowadays, it is certainly a good idea to have a mobile/tablet ready site.

No. A mobile website is just that, a separate mobile version. It means 2 web addresses, and 2x the upkeep. A responsive website is one website domain that actually changes the way it looks based on what type of device you are using to view it.

We can. If this is desired then a yearly fee will be worked into the contract.

You may only have access to your direct files once the final payment has cleared for the website. Additionally, you must sign a waiver that releases us from any responsibility should you break your site. We can always fix it, but not for free. If you choose to have us maintain your site then we would respectfully decline your request to have direct access to the files.

If you want to maintain your content, we can talk about setting up a user account for your website. This will allow you to manage text, images, blog entries, and anything else we set. It will NOT allow for changes to the look and architecture of the site, because we won't want it to get broken by mistake.

We know how the whole process works. Since we're not doing only part of it and then passing it to another department, we can maintain a deadline and control of the project from start to finish. Nobody wants to waste time in meetings, so if you're looking to contract with someone who will get to the dirty of things, we'll be here for you.

If you're looking for someone to fill a chair at your office for a couple of weeks, that's not us. Also, if you're looking for a project that requires a lot of different people, we'll have to talk about it, we prefer to only take things that we can complete 100% in-house, start to finish. Finally, if you aren't willing to share sensitive data with us (necessary account passwords usually) then there isn't much we can do.
